Talking new tank

i am going to set my 90 up soon like in next week i hope, but i have a 72 bow now and if i change everything in to the 90, which i have many fish and a lot of corals will i need to put stuff in week by week? i am going to put the 72 gallons in the 90 and then fill the other 18 gallons with new water. so it will really be like a water change. so my question is do i need to put fish in one a week or can i do all into new tank? it is not a huge change. and i dont want 2 tank running well i would like both but i just cant do that only 1

If you switch the whole system over, as if you were taking the same system and just swapping out the glass, then yes it's perfectly ok, but it might get tricky if you have a sand bed.

I just did that today... took all day as well. I have my corals from my old tank in a tote for now.

I took all the sand out and added new sand as well to my new tank.

I used 50% new water and 50% old. Then I added the live rock and turned on the sump... it was clear in about 2 hours and the levels all tested good. I did clean out the old sand a couple times with RO water.

I can help you if you need it, let me know.
