Hydroid removal

How do you eliminate hydroids?

I had digitate hydroids (there are 2 types that I know of). One came as a hitchhiker and that turned into about 30 all over the place after about a month. About 3-4 months later they were all gone on their own.

They normally come and go in cycles. Just leave them alone and they'll die off.
