Equipment for 210

I listed this in another thread but got no love, so here goes again.
I am going to upgrade again. I currently have a 125 gallon FOWLR with a 72" maristar fixture. Its 3X250 watt with 3 Phoenix 14K's. I am wanting to upgrade to a 210 reef tank. I have a ER CS6-2, thinking of running dual skimmers, maybe a Octopus 200 along side of the ER. I have 2 koralia 4's a Koralia 3 a seio and a couple other misc powerheads, I will have a 55 gallon fuge, and a 30 gallon sump. I am pretty sure I am going with a closed loop for some added flow. I am wondering if this stuff will work, mainly lighting, and are there any downsides to running dual skimmers, if so what are they.

Thanks in advance.

Ben

3 250 watts should be good works out to about 3 1/2 watts a gallon, you can add some t5;s or pc's for actinic lighting and that will take you to about 4 watts a gallon. you should be fine.

down side running two skimmers is that you need to clean 2 skimmers , other than that you are all set. As far as lighting, as long as you have good reflectors such as lumenmax or lumanarc, it'll work fine ( the gal/watt thing is not useful at all). However, you'll need more flow if u going to do any SPS, other than that, you are good to go.

if you are going to do sps i would recommend upgrading the lighting to the 400 watters... sps grows to the top anyways and if you have to stick all your sps at the top because you have 250 watters then they will soon grow out of the tank. i love the 400 watters that i have..makes it look so much brighter in there. with that being said i think i would change the 55 gallon fuge to the sump and the 30 gallon sump to the fuge. you will get alot of evaporation with the 400s( if you go this route). i currently have a 100 gallon sump and a 90 gallon fuge for my 210. i to have a dual skimmer setup. one that runs wet and one that runs dry. mine are a diy type skimmer though. good luck and keep us posted!

That was the last thing I wanted to hear......maristars arent cheap. I will contemplate upgrading the lighting to 400 watts. I might also keep the fixture and just add a few T5 lights. We are looking for the house now, and I go straight to the basement to see if my vision can be seen. We turned down a quite a few houses today, LOL. Well definitely keep everyone updated. Just trying to buy all the equipment now before the wifey finds out how much Im spending. LOL

I am thinking of just making my own dual recirc skimmer. Checking on parts now. Maybe a dual sedra 9000 with a 10" diameter 4' tall
