I had no clue about that info. Thanks alot. I had mine in a 56g and then broke it down and put it in my main tank. Shortly after my 2 cleaners were gone. I also had a ton of peps in there too and now I can only find about 5. That was out of the 20 I put in. I thought I was having a problem with iodine or something. Looks like you lead me to the midnight gun slinger. I will be removing him when I move my tank later this month.

Good luck on getting it out. I have tried several times just because mine is also a frag stealer. The only thing I am happy about moving my tank is that I get him out. Dont mean nothing by it, I loved him in my 56g. I had no frags in there and only large rocks so he just made due with what he had. Makes me think twice about trying to catch him with my hands again.

I'll be damned. I didn't know they killed cleaner shrimp as their prey.

I've got one, paired up with a YWG.

But I've also got cleaner shrimp in the tank that have been alive for a while.

But I did notice my peps disappearing....

EDIT:
I didd'nt see the "Frag Steeler" part.

Do they all do that???

It does not matter if you had one before the other. They should still pair up.

So if I keep the frags off the bottom they should be fine, I hope.
I really want one, so hermanx7 if your game, I'll give him a good home.

I'm about a week away from pouring water into the 90g, I'll have to let it cycle for a few, and then transfer everything from the 35g to it.
If it happend, I could take the pistol shrimp earler, but it would be less stressfull on him if I wate till the 90g is running.

JeffKirk,

I will be moving my tank the weekend of the auction. Send me a pm with your number. He is mid sized for a pistol shrimp. (looks just like the one in the video)I have had him for about 9 months or so. When I purchased him I got a goby to go with him(not paired at the time) It took almost 2 months before they paired up. I think the biggest problem was them finding each other after the shrimp dug his cave. The goby didnt make it when I broke down my 56g tank. You can have him for free. Just come get him after I have caught him. Let it be known that he is a frag stealer just like most of them. I try to curve this by leaving a small pile of rubble by his cave. Do you have any brains. He also has a habit of buring things. I was out of town for a weekend and while I was gone he decided to extend his home, in the process dug out under a favia and then buried 3/4 of it in the sand. I was able to save the top part of the favia but most of it died off. I do ask that you think it through before interducing him into your tank. Once he is in, he is very hard to get him out.

I second that they are frag thiefs. Several times a week I am fishing out corals out of the caves and unbearing corals. They really cause havoc if you have anything on the sand bed.

Also, fyi I got a smaller pistol, my brother got the tiger pistol. Tiger pistol is double the trouble of the smaller pistol. I am not to the point of removing him, but I don't think I would do it again.

You guy's are giving me second thought's here.

Just talked to Ryan and he suggested getting a nano to keep the PS/YWG pair in. Only problem is I'm wrapped up in setting up the 90g and can't justify another tank right now.

I'll think it over a bit more but the desire is starting to fade a bit.

I LOVE my YWG and pistol pair! They are awesome! I had the YWG for about a month or two before I bought the pistol from Pets Inc. The pistol was tiny when I brought him home from Pets Inc. Within a week they were paired up! Been together since, and I must say the pistol shrimp grows incredibly fast! He is very good sized now!
