What does your clown host?

I have heard about clowns hosting in many a different coral or corner of a tank and wondered what everyones clowns hosted in.

Here are my skunks hosting in their xenia.

and then here are my false percs by their acan.

Here is mama rubbing on it.

Post pics if you got them otherwise just let us know.

My two B&W clowns just started hosting my GBTA the other day. Surprised the hell out of me when they did it. I had them for almost 6 months and they'd never shown any interest in hosting anything.

What's funny about it is that I used to have a pair of orange/white clowns, but one died on me so I had a single one in my tank for about a year - never showed any interest in hosting. Then I moved that clown over to my roommate's tank - of which contained a larger orange/white clown that hosts in his really nice RBTA.

He seemed to ignore it for about a month, and next thing I know, he's hosting in the RBTA, right next to my roommate's clown.

My tank raised Ocellaris clown host's the corner of my tank. There is a nice colony of hammer and frogspawn in the tank that i am surprised he has not hosted.

My clowns haven't hosted in anything.

I bought 2 at once, and it looked like they were fond of the frogspawn. But then one started beating on the other so badly I had to separate them (same size, most possibly 2 females). So I just got a really small one to go with the larger one and they're getting along. It'd be cool if they host the frogspawn soon - hopefully not my brand new little frag, but the large 5 head piece. Still have the other big one in the sump, need to get rid of it :/

Ours are in the corner by a slanted rock. Have the option of xenia, frogspawn, anthellia. Are BTA or RBTAs hard to keep? We've had condis in the past (not sure what happened to them), had them for 6-9 months. Would like to get these clowns something to host that is a bit easier than the carpet. Great thread!

Wow. Hosting in a clam of all things. Never heard that one before. I would think the clam would close up from the movement. My fish swim by my clam and it clams up

a Condy Anemone is not a natural host for any clown fish, there have been many accounts of Condy nems eating a clown fish that choose one as a host.

Edit: also lots of account of it going ok, Just and FYI I have read a few people saying their condy ate a clown after the condy got big.

In my 150g the clowns host a branching hammer.

In my Nano the pair host branching frogspawn.

Here is a pic of the one's I had in my 90g. They now belong to another reefer along with their home.

Mine host in 2 or 3 of my leathers. During the day they go back and forth between my maroon leathers and the peach colored ones, but both clowns always sleep in the big maroon one at night, and the leather almost closes around them. Its really kinda cute.

Thanks, we sure do like them, and they sure are fun to watch diving in and out only wish they would come out of the anenome - when they do they venture like 6 inches away from it! Does anyone else's do this?

Mine do the same thing. The only time they come out is to eat, and that is about 6" at the most.
