albfelix, hows the bubble king working out? I tried the mini 160 and didn't like it. It would lose it's foam head for hours at a time when you feed or have your hands in the tank. I couldn't get any dark skimmate out of it either.

at moment it is just sitting in a rubermaid container cooking 90 pounds of rock. It is only up for 5 days. Will take pictures and post them a little later. Manual says that it takes up to 1 week or maybe a little longer to fully break in. It is still a little too early to judge it. So far it is producing a lot of constant fine bubbles and dark yellow skimmate.

I saw the BK 160 also ... Nice workmanship but like you said if you feed the tank it will take up to six hours to kick back in.

Hey guys,
Can I ask a favor of those of you with an Eheim recirculating pump? Can you tell me how many washers are on the impeller shaft? I count four of them, two at the base of the shaft and two right below the needlewheel. Is that correct?

I have the same on my A200-1260. Two on top and two on the bottom. I haven't had my skimmer running that long but it looks like the washers are getting worn out already.

Sometimes I put my hands in the water and move rocks. The skimmate would drop from the skimmer even though the amount of bubble in the skimmer body are the same since the water level changes due to rock movements. That is normal with every non recerculating skimmer but it never takes 6 hours to kick back in. Top 10 minutes. Maybe since mine comes with a bigger pump compared to mini 160. The craftsmanship. Us uncompetable.

The craftsmanship is awesome. Since you have it cooking rock you might have more crap to skim out. I took out my asm g2 and installed the bubble king. The bubble king is several months old so it doesn't need broken in. It came off my buddy's 58. I wanted to see if it would skim darker since I have a bigger bioload. After a couple of days, I gave up. My asm will skim the pants off the 160. Go figure?

I don't want to hijack the H&S skimmer club thread so I opened a new Bubble King Mini Skimmer Club Thread

A200 2X1260 on my new 225. This thing can skim! what a beast! I don't know what it is about this skimmer if it's the size to pump ratio or where they placed the pumps. All I can say is that it must be the perfect skimmer.
