Gold Stripe pairing??
Well you see it, I have a 2 inch gold stripe in ma tank now. The tank was just re-arranged so it's kind of a new home but anyway. I am going to buy another one off of saltwaterfish.com and was wondering if They send me one that is larger or smaller, which is going to be easier to be accepted into the tank, and what is my best bet? Should I email and ask for one smaller than 2 inch's or just take a bigger one???

I always preferred to get a larger clown (4inches) if I could, in this situation. Males hardly reach 2 inches, usually. The larger clown should assert dominance quite easily.
Maroons are always a PITA. Hope this helps, let us know what you decide. Cheers |

you should not just drop another maroon in there if there both females they will fight to the death. your best bet would be to goto a fishstore and buy one that your sure is "not" female. u can tell if its juvi or male by the way it interacts with other clowns. buy 1 that is getting picked on, and that has a "no fight" attitude.these are going to be males or juvi`s. the way i did it was my female was in tank first. put male in sepperate container inside main tank. so she can see him but not harm him. she will try to attack for a day or two. after she calms down u can try to introduce him to her but be ready to save him because she still could get real mean and kill him.
the best way iv found is to introduce the male into the tank first, that way the female has not laid out her bounderies yet and is more apt. to goto him without a fight. if you ordered a big one not sure if the one you have is male you could end up with 2 females fighting to the death. if you ordered a small 1 you could still end up with a newly formed "small" female...your best bet would be to find a fishstore with a good stock of young maroon`s and pick the most smallest submisive clown you can find there are better threads for this but hope this helps CLAMps

You should definitely get a smaller new clown.
And spec container is best way to intro
