how to handle ants around the tank

I have a nano tank that is near a window. Today i woke up and found a trail of ants just wandering around coming from the wndow frame. Im sure i cant use "Raid" right next to that tank to kill the ants. What alternitives do i have?

Weve used the little plastic bait traps and they work great. I need to know what i can do when theyre on the walls. My wife is having me kill each of them individually as i told her she cant spray "raid" on the walls. Ive used borax before to kill just about averything, it does wonders.

The borax attracts them, they eat it and return to the nest and the nest will die.

Also, when I had this problem I looked at the outside of the house and there was a trail of ants leading up the side of the foundation and disappearing under the siding. Find the outside trail and nuke it with persistent bug killer.

baby powder.. or talcam powder.. they dont like to walk through it, sprinkle it across their path they will disapear in a few min. Pritty cool to see and its enviomentally freindly. I get huge trails through the house everynow and then. (think 3" wide, 30 long). bit of powder and they disapear within the hour.

Enjoy

I too use baby powder, I had a bunch coming in through a corner (poor workmanship in base housing), just powdered the corner, and no more ants!

Try corn meal. Works on fire ants.

You should also get some great stuff, or silacone, and put it in the crack that the ants are coming in from. If thay are coming out of the window seal than get some door/window weather striping. This will also save you on your heat or ac bill, It is a super cheep fix.

The hole that they are coming in from is the size of a pin *****. You wouldnt know it was a hole if ants werent coming out of it. The baby powder has worked so far.

if its still alive, it will hopefully be fine. If you do not see it, do not try to find it. it may be hiding. just LEAVE it alone
