Red bugs or not?
I need some help now, i am at loss. All my params are great, but sumthing is going on. Some of my blue tip frags that i was gonna sell are bleaching out, i dont see any bugs on them. but i do see very small red bugs on the lower glass near the sand bed. they are all red and have no yellow on them. i did take a look at my spss and i dont see any of them on them. i think it started when my red monti started to bleach, and a film covered it, now its almost all gone.
the thing is i havent changed a thing, i did do a 20% water change last week just to be sure. 0 NO3, 0 Phos, 420 Ca, 8.0 Kdh, 1320 Mag, 1.026 sg, 8.1 ph any help is appreciated, i just dont want to treat for red bugs if i dont have to. thank you!

Borrow a good camera and take some close ups. You could have red bugs or flatworms or something else.

really? dropping only so little would cause this? its weird cuz i have 4 frags and master colony of this coral (blue tip) and only 2 frags are affected by it. is red monti so sensitive as well?
thanks.

The little red bugs on the sand/bottom of glass, pure red, are not "red bugs." They are pods that happen to be red and are harmless.

well for one thing, the acro pest known as "red bugs" are actually yellow with a red spot on them. The single-color pods that I see in my tank are 100% rusty-colored red. No question on that point. I have previously seeded this tank with Tigger pods, I think those are a Reef Nutrition product...anyway I believe that what I'm seeing in my tank are tigger pods as they look the same size and color as the original ones I seeded my tank with.
