food grade baking soda as buffer 99.5%
package reads 99.5% NaHCO3 and 0.5% corn starch...
would 0.5% corn starch affect my reef if used as buffer? or should i just go out and get arm and hammer with 100% NaHCO3? thanks

corn starch (flour) shouldn't be a problem but I'd avoid adding it unecessarily...

I would think at that quantity it wouldn't be a problem as your skimmer should remove it. I would not allow it in the tank if it doesn't have a good protein skimmer.

Why risk it when A&H is like 5 bucks for a huge box at Sams or Walmart?
