Aquatic Ornaments?

Are they saltwater safe? I have a fish only tank. I recieved a big palm tree ornament from a family member and wasn't sure if it was safe to add?

Thanks

Depends on the makup of the ornament. As long as it is not metalic, you are probably safe with adding it to your tank. If it is metalic, I wouldn't add it.

I used to have a few fake corals in my FOWLR. The only problem I came across was the amount of algea that grows on it.

A lot depends on what kind of ornament it is - if its a simple all plastic ornament you'll probably be safe. If its a little fancier like painted ceramic or something you start getting into a gray area. As a lot depends on the makeup of the paints (and some paints will breakdown in water) and the material in the ornament.
