GE silicone I* window and door right?

I know there has been numerous threads on this subject but I am unable to find one at the current time. Before I attach my overflow I want to make sure I got the right silicone.

GE Silicone I* window and door. I didn't see any other GE I's there so I am assuming this is the correct one. It doesn't say anything about mold or algae inhibitors on the tube... the color of the tube is gray and blue.

Make sure it has NO BIO SEAL! if it does you don't want to use it.
(or any other mold anti agent)

Yeah I noticed that GE II had the bio-seal label on it, but the GE I did not

Sounds like the correct stuff, check the stock number on the tube. Should be ge012a for clear.

Why not stop the arguing and the worry and just get the AGA silicone. Couple bucks more or have to order but small price for the piece of mind. Manufactures can change additives at the drop of a hat. We wouldn't know they changed something in there formula till it is way to late.

You can buy the DAP brand of Aquarium Sealant at Menards for all of $3 or $4.

Dap makes two kinds of silicone, one that is labeled not for underwater use ($3) and one that is labeled for aquariums ($4).

the one that's labeled for aquariums says that its only good to a depth of 18-inches and should only be used on tanks up to 30 gallons. for an overflow, it should be fine.

BTW, its in the paint department, in the aisle that has the tubes of caulk and the caulking guns.

Use the GE Silicone marked 100% rubber silicone( I believe it is I) I used it in my reef with 0 problems. Is much cheaper and it is ALOT eaiser to use then the small tubes of AGA.

The AGA silicone runs 7 bucks for a small tube at my LFS
it would of cost me 28 bucks plus tax to do my last fuge
that's more the I paid for a new 10 gallon tank and 4 glass
baffles...The GE I cast me about $5 and did the whole thing.

I don't mind paying a little more but when do you say no? lol
