octo skimmer question
i'm gonna have a heavy bioload in my 125g, not much i can do about it. so i was wondering if i would be better off with the Xtreme 160 (i really like the looks of this skimmer), or if i should spring for the octo recirc needlewheel 200.

Wait about 24 hours until the Xtreme's are in at Marine solutions to see the final specifications.
I would think the Xtreme-160 will be a far better skimmer than the NW-200

A 10" diameter and ~10" operating depth isn't enough detail to make me feel comfortable enough to start the build.

I'm setting up a 150 gal and in between on the xtreme 200 and 250??? Should I just go with the 250??? don't know the specs. I think this is a way better deal than the bubblemaster 200 I was going to get, and looks to be just as good! I wonder though about the mesh mod on the xtremes and the thread wheel on the bubblemaster??? Will it make a difference in the performance?

The extreme pulls 22 Lpm the NW 200 13 Lpm. I think I would look at the extreme.

Mg, i think you wanted to say the extreme 160 pulls 22lpm, 200 pulls 22lpm, the 250 pulls 44lpm and the octo nw 200 pulls 13scfh.... stock. And we are only talking about the swc octo's.

yeah, I was only talking about the xtreme line of skimmers...I think I'm going with the 250. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it! Besides, I plan on sps dominated tank and want a lot of fish.
Anyone now how long it takes these things to get through customs?? Days...weeks...I have no idea? |

Well, they have been in Canada for a week now so it should be any day they are released and at marine solutions.
I only posted that because i didn't want people to think the octo nw 200 pulled 13lpm stock, mg426 meant scfh, not lpm

I've dealt with Canadian customs - it's a mixed bag. Depending on where they're going through and how far of a trip they have to MS and how they're getting there, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't see them until this time next week - especially with the holidays in there. Although I certainly do hope I'm VERY wrong!
