Angry Aaahhhhhhhhhh, lost everything!!!!!

Man does this suck...Moved over the weekend. I put fish in one 55G trashcan and frags in the other 55G trashcan. I have a powerhead and heater in each of the trashcans. Everything is dead. My new garage smells like a rotting fish market. Soooo frustrating.

I moved to Lakewood so I'm close to the Hawaiian Gardens Casino. I guess I will be working there part time ($20 no-limit) to fund my comeback...whenever that is!

with this weather in the garage at night are you sure your heater can keep the temperature up.

I believe certain trash cans are treated with a mildewcide which could have poisoned your livestock. Thats why I always use food grade containers.

i put all my coral and fish in a bucket for 2 days with heater and powerhead in a bucket, and didn't have any problem. could it be the heater is leaking voltage?

The temp was fine, in the high 70's. If that is the case of the trashcan, then I will know in the future.

Whats a corcal? how much live stock did you have in there?? maybe a combination, non-food grade containers..temp shock..stress..did you feed your fish before you moved..you should also keep them without food for a couple of days before you move..that way less waste in a small container...unfiltered..
Sorry for your loss...

I feel you hydrahawk. When I moved to the apartment last year. I kep my healthy coral beauty, shrimp, PC and chromis in one 5 gallon pail. That morning afterv the move, I was so frustrated seeing my CB and shrimp dead. I had the CB for months and my worst fear had happened. If I could have avoided moving my livestock while moving to a new place, I would do that.

Give me a month to recycle my tank. Then I will start it all up again. I might just hit you guys up for some cheap frags.

Fun hobby!
