New tank.. glasscages?

Im looking to get a new aquarium in the price range of $200-300 and I was looking at glasscages.com and they had a good price on a 75 gallon long. What are your opinions on their tanks. Or any other manufactures tanks, I would like it to be reef ready

Thanks
Joe

I would search a bit before you decide to get a tank from them.... Alot of people have alot to say and a majority isn't good.

I would just get an All Glass or Perfecto 75 gallon reef ready. More reliable, in your price range and better customer service. IMO.

my glasscages tank scratches like it was not properly treated. I curse them everyday when I see the huge scratches all over.

Thanks for the responses. I guess the consensus is to look elsewhere, which I will do. Thanks again all

In that price range you can get a brand new AGA reef ready 75, 90, or even 125 at ShoTank.... if you go to their site and look at the additional specials you can see all their tank prices.

I am getting a AGA 125rr for 300 this friday, 75 should be much cheaper than that.

My tank is from GC, I have no issues with it. It did take a little work to remove some sloppy silicon but who cares. It is over built and everything was where I specified it to be. The only issue I had was a missing bulk head upon delivery. The truck driver called and I made a follow up call and had the bulk head in two days. For the price I paid I cannot complain.

I bought a 55 gallon (48x18x13) while GC was at the NARBC show. Cost me $60 I think. So far everything is perfect, made pretty well. I drilled it myself.

Id probably buy it again considering an equivalent tank from AGA or perfecto was close to $300 and I shutter to think what it would be from something like Aquariums Obsessed.

Two friends of mine have had big Glass Cages tanks split at the seams. Make sure you have flood insurance if you buy one.

All you have to do is google them and you will hear plenty of reasons not to buy from them. I am sure that some people have been happy with them, but there are way too many that have not been.

Ive heard quite a few more horror stories about their tanks, mainly seams splitting open, even after a year or so. Not a chance I want to take, even if there are a few good ones. After doing some shopping around I think Im heading in the direction of a 120RR, not much more than the GC, made by AGA. Thanks for all the input guys

Good choice. You should really like that tank. Reliable and its their smallest tank that has 2 overflows! That 120 has as much filtering capabilties as a 210!

Just to update this..I did buy the 120RR AGA from Shotank, they had the best price around and I will be picking it up on Friday along with a 40 breeder for a sump. I was thinking a Mag 18 for a return or an ocean runner 6500, any thoughts? I dont want to run an external pump

Mag Drives are nice pumps. The Mag 18 will be great for a 120. If anybody says its too much, have them tell that to my buddy that has a Barracuda on his Perfecto 120.

I own Ocean Runner and Mags and prefer the ocean Runner. They are cooler because they use less energy/gallon. They are also almost silent.

FYI on the pump "Submerged operation is possible in freshwater only." That was in the description.

Smart move not getting it from Glasscages. I called them when I was looking for my tank originally. They have like a 30 or 90 day warantee. The guy that answered the phone was rude and acted like he was put off by me even saking about a warantee. Add that to all the bad things I read and I avoided them...

I have no issue with GC except they guy is a tool. I have a 220 from them that I broke, and a 125 that is perfect. I got both of them 5 yrs ago and it was under $500 so can't beat that, BUT when i do it again it wont be from them just on principle.
Good choice with a 120 RR
