What's the base price for 2 hours of IT work ?

We have this community campaign thing going at work for charity.

They're gonna have silent auction for stuff.

I donated myself... "2 hours to the bidder's house to do IT work for him/her, etc. I can do whatever is needed (IT related), install a wire-less router, upgrade to Vista, upgrade to Leopard (Mac), unlock an iPhone, etc, etc."

The organizer left me a message asking how much to base the price for silent auction.

I have no idea since I never call one myself.

So... how much ?

thanks.

100 for the 1st hour (to show up) 50 there after. Software upgrades need to include the price of the software. Vista is not really that cheep. I know there are always "free" ways to get software, but Vista has a lot of protection that restricts pirates

I only do work like that (in home) for friends...I usually just charge em a case of Guinness. If it takes me a while, I might ask them to get me a bottle of Herradura Anejo

Oh, around here $100 seems to be the going rate for a basic in-home like say a clean install of windows.

My dad was whining that AT&T wanted $100 to fix his virus-ridden Windows Me machine. He didn't believe me when I said it was a good deal...and that I was done spending weekends fixing it for free.

Instead of fixing it, he canceled his internet service.
