Fish ID, really rare damcelfish.



Its very beautiful, never seen in my life. Could you post the comon name, and the cientific name?

Don't let the photos fool you they are the same fish. You probably have seen them but didn't take much notice.

Why do they look so different in those two pictures? Is one an adult and the other a juvenile?

try searching with the spelling damselfish. might get better results.

first entry on the search was actually from peteducation.com

"The Smith's Damselfish, also known as Pink Smith Damselfish, has a shiny silvertone to white body with pink highlighting the outline.

A small group should reside in a 30 gallon or larger aquarium with live rock and other hiding places to break up the territories.

It is an omnivore, eating anything from algae to meaty foods."
