Well that is a good Idea but I don't know of a place that has a setup with different bulbs to see them in action. LFS are you listening :-) great idea. but I hear the FAOIS have the best prices locally

tell us a little about your setup if you will as far as ballast , tank , reflectors, and what your keeping.

maybe we can help..
prob. the best bulb asthetically (sp) for a SE is the aquaconnect 14k. they have the blue that most people want along with the growth of a 10k.. they can be used with actinics or without.

DE phonix gets a high rating..

but those are only opinions..

Take each of the terms that you don't understand and do searches on RC, RK, and then google and you will put it all together. I studied Sanjay's info for about 6 weeks, and felt like I learned alot about lighting.

I can second markandkristens opinion. They are both great bulbs, the phoenix is better on HQI ballast IMO but still very good on electronic.

The phoenix is going to be my next bulb. by the way you have an HQI balist.

As I mentioned when you came by. I would go with atinics for the PC you are running and a 10K for the MH. If you like more blue go with the 14K
