FS: 450gal Acrylic Aquarium - $550
I picked this tank up from Chaffey over the summer who acquired it as a tear out from a restaurant. I got it home, started buffing out the acrylic and then found out I needed to move at the end of the year. I have not found the time to finish the buffing and I don’t have room for it in the new house.
The tank is 8ft long, 3ft wide and 2.5ft high with ¾” acrylic walls. There is a single external overflow on one side that measures 8” long and 6” wide with holes for two 1.5” bulkheads. The bottom of the tank is drilled for 1” and ¾” bulkheads that were used as additional overflows and returns. The tank also has a pair of acrylic covers. I took a few pictures but since I was juggling a baby at the time I didn’t even have the opportunity to wipe off the dust or spots from my sanding/buffing activities. ![]() This is the side I have already wet sanded through 600grit. ![]() The external overflow box ![]() Paint left over from the tear out that will easily come off in the sanding/buffing process. ![]() There is a chip out of one of the top corners but it in no way affects the structural integrity of the tank. ![]() There is an addition repair to a nick in a bottom corner that has been internally reinforced. It is also structurally sound. I was not able to climb in to the tank to photograph it but will try to tonight. The tank comes with the bulkheads plus the supplies needed to complete the resurfacing (wet/dry sandpaper, noxus kit, orbital buffer and pads). It does not come with a stand or canopy. This thing is big and heavy. Moving it requires at LEAST four able-bodied people and a truck. I will have a suitable truck at my disposal after 2pm this Saturday and can help move it for the roundtrip cost in diesel. I will entertain any reasonable offer. |

For that matter, put in a few dividers and use it for both! It is certainly big enough to climb inside and tinker with.

Heck... at this size, you can divide it up into a water storage, sump and display all in one!!! Free bump.

Let me expand upon my position with this tank . . .
On Wednesday I drive most of my stuff up to my new home in Seattle. I will be back on Saturday. If this tank is not gone by Sunday evening when I return the truck I borrowed from a friend, I will be abbreviating it with a circular saw to make it easier to haul out to the dumpster. If anyone whishes to entertain the concept of ‘any reasonable offer’, I would rather not chop up a perfectly good aquarium. |

But so everyone knows, me moving this tank alone is not possible. The tank weighs around 500lbs and needs to go down a flight of stairs. This takes 4+ people and a few 2x4's to do in relative safety. Since I am in the middle of a 1200 mile move, I do not have the time to wrangle up a bunch of my buddies to move it. Whoever gets the tank needs to do this (and likely take them all to dinner and buy beer). |

The tank gets the saw tomorrow. Everyone either flaked or did not have the means to move the tank.
If anyone can get enough people to move the tank (it needs 4-6) and a vehicle to move PLUS make sure it is out by 2pm . . . it is yours. I can no longer help. My knee is busted. |

Why don't you lower the price and I'm sure someone would jump on it like hotcakes. Instead of just cutting it. At least you would get $300 or something you know. JMO Free bump

I already offered it for whatever someone would pay. No one could work out the logistics . . . even for free.

Dang, no LFS owner is jumping on this deal?
Wonder what my chances are of selling my 60 gal if no one is willing to take a 450 gal for free. lol. |

I agree. It's a shame that a nice huge tank like that will not be put to good use but will fill a landfill instead. If you drop the price significantly, I'm sure that people WILL find a way to take it from you... JMO.
Where specifically in LA are you located?

Again . . . I offered the tank for whatever someone would pay for it on the 15th. No one could work out the logistics. If someone CAN work out the logistics and have it out of my place by 2pm tomorrow, it is yours. I am turning over the keys and driving away by 3pm.
