Maxijets on a wavemaker
What is a good on/off cycle. minutes, hours? I just set it up and trying 15 on/10 off. Is this too much stress on the pump.
The outlet has soft start and these are mj 1200's. Thanks. |

While I can't recomend a cycle, I can say the 15 on / 10 off is far from too much stress on a MJ. There are some running them like a wavebox and they are like 2 sec. on / 2 sec. off.

Good to know.
Anyone run it seconds on/seconds off that never had a problem, or had a problem that they would like to share? |

I'm rnning 4 on a wave machine. The lengh of time on/off varies from day to day, but the time is usually a minute or so on, and then a couple of minutes off. I've been runing them for well over a year with no problems.

I run (4) MJ 1200's on a Red Sea Wavemaker. The intervals are a nominal 15-20 seconds on and then off again. They work like champs. I usually replace the impellors every 6 months or so, but the pumps have been running like this for a couple of years.

Great news.. I have 4 mj1200 behind the rockwork. Tubing comes out through the rocks, so it is basically hidden. Its a PITA to get them out for maintenance. I didnt want them to burn out prematurely and screw with the aquascaping all that often.
