Ridgefield Public Schools are Closed

School is cancelled for me.

Everyone that is going to work...................drive safe, its gonna be one hell of a ride home.....

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM EST THIS EVENING.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ACROSS INTERIOR PORTIONS OF THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT LATE THIS MORNING. PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ARE THEN EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS...ENDING THIS EVENING AS LIGHT SNOW OR POSSIBLY FREEZING DRIZZLE.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 6 TO 10 INCHES BY THE TIME THE PRECIPITATION ENDS THIS EVENING.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

Did you have to walk 3 miles uphill both ways too? I know I did!

Well, I am a bit older than you so they probably straightened out the hills for your generation

Road march with 50+ pounds of gear on your back beats my 3 mile uphill snow hike any day.

The funny thing, is that our superintendent of schools, is actually the most harsh superintendent there is in Fairfield County. Both of the last ice/rain storms she called nothing, and it ended up that the teachers at the HS that came down from Waterbury, could not even get to the school............

But, the thing is, it seems people in Ridgefield seem to make sure that their thoughts on almost everything are heard.....so she probably received a million (exaggerating -town of 35,000) telling her about how they all thought that she was making very irresponsible calls........I know that the last ice storm....she sent us to school on time and the bus slid while trying to stop at where on of the kids get on.......so this time I figure she decided she would avoid all the ridiculous e-mails

I have to agree though...........I think as this generation of kids.........we do have it much easier than people used to. Like all the old hills have been removed. Top of the line snow plows so we can see the curb.........yeah, its all good

My Criminal Law exam just got pushed to Next Wed. So now I have Evidence one day, and Crim the next. I'm actually happy that it happened.

6 weeks? Shoot, I have 3, and I'm happy I have that!

I grew up in Long Island so you have to add avoiding the "criminal element" to my daily commute (which I was pretty good at until I got to high school age)
