Lightbulb Red Sea Pro Salt

just mixed a new bucket of 55gal redsea pro,and let it ran for 2 days.

1.026 salinity

9.1-9.2 alky (calibrated salifert & lamotte)

480 Ca ( salifert)

1290 mag (salifert)

seems ok to me, but hope that the mag can be a bit higher..and i'll try few more buckets to see if it's constant.

I used some that I got from RAP, it worked well.. I think the true test of a salt mix is how your tank looks the next day

seaside always price match MD, same or less, i used to pick up TMP from them for 62 bucks b4 this redsea pro.

if they listed the price on their website, usually they won't give u discount, but if talk to the owner, he'll give a bit discount.

from my experiences, seaside usually has cheaper price on both livestock and dry goods, they have frags or micro. and ricordias now too, i picked up a 4 branches duncan with green mouths for $50 that day which i think it's decent price.

Andy, I agree, seaside is usally where I get most of my dry goods cause they're the cheapest. I know they'll match their online price, however, I was unaware they price match other companies

Anyone else found the the cap to the 175 gallon bucket is really hard to get off once you closed it? I guess it's a good thing but I feel like I'm taking off a tire when I open that thing.

I usually get the 175 bucket from MD and my fiance picks it up during her errand runs.

I like the product and have been using it since RAP. I always get the same params, 450 CA and 9 alk. I just make sure that I aerate (sp) for at least a day before using it.

Yes, the Red Sea bucket is a PITA. I just took the bag & dumped it into my Reef Crystals bucket, much easier & waterproof since I store my buckets outside

Ying: what are you doing running 1.024

Be careful with the PITA buckets- I have a big scar from an Oceanpure bucket top. I get flashbacks when I try to open other buckets now.

I use the Red Sea Pro, and have for about 8 months. I guess it's OK.

I always take the bag out of the large bucket and put it into an Oceanic bucket I have. The Oceanic buckets have a nice rubber seal on them to keep out the moisture.
