Where To Buy Hermit Crabs?

I need couple hundred hermit crabs to eliminate the hair algae in my newly setup reef tanks in office.

What kind of hermit crabs are the best?

Where can I get them?

I bought some from local stores, but they don't have enough quantity for me.

Somebody told me "Zebra hermit crab" is better than the blue leg hermit crabs I have in my home tanks. Is that true?

keyscritters.com is much cheaper, but I doubt they will cure your problem. The problem is nutrients... Clean up crews help, but just turn one product into another (poop)...

www.reeftopia.com Super cheap bulk lots and cheap (or free if you order enough) shipping. My buddy and I have ordered from them a few times and they have always been awsome. They have a pretty good selection too.

IME, hermits dont do much for hair algae. Like above, control nutrients ie less feeding, protien skimmer, fuge with macro, phosphate remover and/or water changes. Once hair alge is there, it is kinda hard to get rid of, even with nutrient control. We got nutrients under control in my friends tank and the HA stopped growing, but wouldnt dissapear. The only thing that we tried that worked really well was a sea hare.

Good luck
