Plenums!

Hey guys,

When I was last involved in this hobby, I remember the debate against plenums and for DSB being pretty hot. As of now, what are the results?

I would love to hear from anyone who has had long term success (or failure!) with a plenum... I am thinking of trying one for my next tank (well, half-thinking...)

Anyone?

One of the members here has a ugf filter in his 35 year old reef. Its basically a plenum. I think thats pretty long term as far as success goes.

I'd skip it personally. There's no plenums in the ocean last I checked.

Well, I´m only considering it as an artificial way to re-create natural processes (denitratification). How many heaters, MH´s, or skimmers have you seen in the ocean?

sm51498, I´ll check that out.

Anyone with long term personal experience with plenum's? Or "Toxic Belch"´s?

Thanks guys

Here is a thread from a while back that took place in another forum. There are a couple of linked articles in the thread that might be of interest.
