I made this one, I cropped off the "outer" frame to try and make it look a little better. Problem being that when I shrink it to avatar size its 80% frame and just a teeny picture. So I cut off some of the frame to make the picture bigger. I can do it the other way too if you want, no biggie, just the picture gets really small!

It's wider than it is tall, so to satisfy the 150 pixels wide, it ends up being only 123 pixels tall.

Nina, I can adjust the size of the picture in the frame if you would like that?
Just let me know what you would like and will get it done ok.

Sunset and evening star
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

Godspeed Gary!

Nina, I'm sorry to hear about the mistake with the paper. Anybody who knows you knows you were so much more than a companion to Gary. Try not to let their ignorance get you down. Thank you so much for posting the link to the funeral home page, it's an honor to be included in that. I hope that our additions to the page show how widespread the love and respect for Gary is.

I would have been beside myself when I read the companion part also. You were more than that to Gary and I can't believe they didn't tell you about it first.

Maggie will love to have anything you find that was Gary's for her to have, even if you have to wash it and re spray it with Stetson for her. Those lollipop kids will be good for you to have around in the days to come. I'm sure Tuffy has liked all the extra hugs and even the tears.

I hope that everyone else is doing well also during this time. I know that somehow you all will find the ability to heal and become whole again. All the things you are sending with Gary are just way cool and I know he'll appreciate each of them.

My heart aches for the pain of the family but is eased knowing Gary is watching over you all making sure things only get better.
What the two of you have is a dream for most and a reality for few. You'll cherish every minute of it for ever.

Love to you and the family from mine.

oh well, some people just don't get it. i can't let their mistake ruin what will be a lovely service so i'm just not gonna think about it. gary is laughing at this, i assure you. he would be telling me "don't sweat the small stuff."

dave, i have noticed the huge number of views this thread has. it certainly IS a testament to how much gary is thought of and it so warms my heart!

i put fresh flannel sheets on our bed yesterday and sprayed gary's pillow with his stetson. it was such a comforting smell as i drifted off to sleep. i thought it would probably reduce me to tears and it did but only for a minute or two.

i've decided not to send gary's level with him. i'm pretty sure things in heaven are perfect and i don't think he's gonna need it. it'll take him a while to figure out that he doesn't have to work quite as hard there as he did here.

gary never liked the idea of dogs in bed with us so i didn't encourage that although if i had really wanted to, i know he would have given in. since he knows how much i love the lollipop kids, i'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind that i let them sleep with me last night.

my e-mail isn't working, hasn't since last night, so i have to call about that today because andy is forwarding all of the memory book entries to me via e-mail and i'm sure there are many i have not been able to read yet. i am so touched by all of the kind words and i can't wait for gary's family to read them all. there have been a few from the folks at the mini horse forum and a few from friends in the area but the majority of the messages are from the loungers! i LOVE that!

i have some running to do today and there will be lots of people bringing food to nana's and i really need to get up there. i was home pretty much all day yesterday, lots of phone calls and i had a few visitors but for the most part, people are stopping at nana's house.

love & hugs to everybody! xoxoxo nina

The smallest things give you comfort that's for sure. I still spray cotton candy body spray down in Nicole's room once in awhile, and it still comforts me.

I wish I could see that video of Gary with a carrot in his back pocket, and a horse nibbling on it. The thought made me laugh out loud, I can just picture it!
I love the idea of the video, and it will remind people of the healthy Gary, and that may go a long way in helping everyone heal.

You are always close in my thoughts, and I'll definately have you in my thoughts tomorrow.

DANGIT! I had to work all day and night yesterday and missed getting my guestbook entry in on time. I just sent it in.

I am sure Gary knows how we all feel about him though. Rest well and fly high Gary!

Nina, please take care of yourself and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

I am sorry to hear of Garry's passing but glad that it was peaceful with you at his side. I'm not one to attribute much meaning to songs, but Saturday I was listening to a Warren Zevon CD and one song made me think of you and Gary.

Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile

If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile

There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sometimes when you're doing simple things
around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile

You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile

These wheels keep turning but they're running out
of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Keep me in your heart for awhile

Love to both of you.

"gary is laughing at this, i assure you. he would be telling me "don't sweat the small stuff.""

You should print out several of those and paste them around the house.

Don't be afraid to smile with the thought of a happy memory or laugh when you hear a funny story about Gary. It helps like you wouldn't believe.

When you mentioned the Blue birds all I could think of was this song....

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day.
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way,
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day.
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way,
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way!

Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

wonderful lyrics, fat man. thank you!

dave, i've thought of that song too and heard gary singing it more than once.

grim, that's not a bad idea, i'm sure i'll need that reminder often over the next few weeks and months.

for the past couple of days, we've been telling funny "gary stories". there are many more funny ones than not-so-funny ones. when i have time, i'll tell you my favorite gary story...it has something to do with raw chicken necks.

we have our picture boards all ready. i have printed out all of the memory book entries. speaking of those, gary's sister just finished reading them. she could not stop crying. she told nana that she MUST read and nana said she would, later, when she is alone. when nana asked me who sent them, i told her almost all of them were from my RC loungers and she was so touched to think that gary has impacted so many lives in such a positive way. the entries are simply wonderful, so heartfelt and just so lovely.

tuffy's banging his bucket and the little boys are play fighting so i'm guessing it's time for chores. love & hugs to you all!!! nina xoxoxo
