What to do with raw cranberries?
...other than make cranberry sauce?
I inherited a bag of raw cranberries from Thanksgiving. Is there anything more creative that could be made from them? Otherwise I guess I can make more sauce...

Pop popcorn and string both into garlands for the Christmas tree: one cranberry, 4 popcorn, one cranberry, repeat ad nausea. Put the kids to doing it. Plus making construction-paper chains for garland: 1/2" wide strips sideways, form into ring, glue, insert next strip, glue--- your tree won't be elegant, but it will be old-fashioned homey.

My wife freezes them for future uses and puts them in clear vases with Christmas flowers.

They are actually pretty tasty when roasted alongside other veggies. Get a shallow roasting pan and throw some parsnips, red pepper, squash, and cranberries in there, toss with some olive oil, and a bit of salt and pepper. 400 degrees for an hour. Toss a few times to cook evenly. Quite tasty. They'll still be tart, but the heat will caramelize them to some degree.
Additionally, cranberries + brussel sprouts + chopped shallots and some olive oil, a tbsp of honey, and some salt and pepper. roast 35-45 minutes at 400 degrees, and serve with walnuts.

stoli, grey goose, absolut, i think the cranberries will help with the flavor of any vodka, but those are the ones that i have had. well, i had poland spring too, but that was what i imagine rubbing alcohol tastes like. don't use that

mmmmmm Ciroc. That brings back good memories. Though Ciroc is more of a Grappa than a Vodka it is still very very good. A few years ago the wife decided to give jars of vanilla sugar for gifts, so we bought a whole bunch of fresh vanilla beans, like 100 of them. needless to say we had extra. I put them in a bottle of Ciroc that was about halfway empty. It keeps getting better and better. when we use some, I always add more to the bottle. I would expect cranberries would do the same.

Orange Cranberry Ginger Cake 2 Sticks Butter 2 Cups Sugar 4 Large Eggs 2 1/2 cups Flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 2 TBSP ground ginger (I like using fresh grated ginger - I use a pretty large piece. You can leave out the ginger if you don't like the flavor and the cake is still good.) 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup orange juice 2 1/2 cups cranberries - picked over cream butter, add sugar, cream in eggs, whip till fluffy. Mix flour and other dry ingredients and gradually add to butter/sugar mixture alternatively with orange juice. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Fold in cranberries. Pour into two loaf pans or one 12 cup bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 80 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. You can glaze this with some confectioners sugar and warm water, but I don't think it needs it. You can also use this recipe for muffins - just use muffin tins, sprinkle with crystal sugar and bake for about an hour. Enjoy!

Let me know what you think.
I also have a recipe for cranberry pie - it's a family favorite, but an acquired taste for some. Let me know if you want me to PM it.

Mrs. Kfisc does this great cranberry relish- mince them up with oranges and lemons and sugar and what-not; I'd ask for the recipe, but she's napping.
I don't bother her when she's napping. 'Nossir.
