Mag Drive maxijet mod?

With the sucess of the maxijet mods making these pumps high flow units, I was thinking, on a larger scale.

Could someone or has someone tried doing this to a mag drive pump? For large tanks, this seems like a possible way to make some huge waves!

its the same concept as the maxijet mods, just with a different pump and different propeller sizes. spazzs moved like 4300 gph on a 1250.

We know its the same concept, we're trying to see if someone has done it and can further explain...there might be certain details that are important and I don't feel like tearing up a brand new mag

It would be just like a larger, hot Tunze stream but less expensive

Dude, your as sick as I am...

I thought about doing that to a Mag5 I have...But I only have a 37 gallon tank >big time overkill< however after looking at the pump and taking the cover off I think it would be just as easy to mod a mag as an MJ and then but it all back like new if you don't like it...

I think I'm going to watch this one a bit...

I have a mag 18 prop unit prop prototype in use and it moves a ton of water, even in a 20k gallon tank. The guy who made it for me is a very busy guy, but may chime in at some point.

Yeah pics would be awesome, I can understand though if your too busy with the 20k system lol

That would be awesome if you can have your friend post about him modding the Mag 18.

I'm ready to mod this 7, and get some serious flow for the 150.

5 or 7 wouldn't matter. They are the same motor. It would all depend on what prop you use. You could always adjust the flow on it by cutting down the prop or getting a smaller one for it.

Well a tank that I can swim in

The guy who made me one has a lot of time into it, and he isn't ready to release the details yet so sorry I can't post any pics right now. My apologies, but I do want to honor his request but did want to confirm that it is a viable project. It does move a tremendous amount of water.

A mag 7 "impellor" will work in a mag 5 casing.

I have seen a post on the hitchhikers guide to maxi jet mods. Deep in the post you will find it. What I remember is the guy was lifting rocks in a small tank.
