Black Volatin Lionfish feeding
Is it ok to feed a volatin lionfish live ghost shrimp? I just purchased mine from the LFS today and they told me thats what hes eating and to start trying to switch him over to frozen krill. Also, when I put him in my tank i noticed one of his fins is bent or broken(didnt notice that at the lfs, might have happened in transit). Will it heal?

You can feed them ghost shrimp, but it really isn't a good diet for them. You should try to get him switched onto frozen foods intended for saltwater fish asap. The fin will heal, it happens on occasion.

As for weaning your lion over...
you might want to try the technique I wrote about in the lionfish info sheet (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...ture/index.php) it seems to work well for me and switching over many lions and a few scorpions

Beware of feeding krill only and over feading; I unfortunately did not know and now my lion hasn't eaten in over 2 weeks and I read an article on here that says it may have a blockage and I don't think he's going to make it....
