ive always recieved healthy fish and corals(things like frogspawn and rics) from swf.com

if i do decide to make another online order, it will most likely be from fragglereef.

i usually stick to local people or buy from other members on RC.

I had posted this in a separate thread:

<<< Serdar, who owns the store was very nice, I hand picked some great corals and he shipped them to me upon my return back to NY. The packing job was also excellent.
He also has an online service at:
http://www.phishybusiness.com/>>>>

Lots of good frags at the meetings, and if you're looking for something specific, be sure to let this list know as there lots of great corals in club members tanks, and be sure to let your local store(s) know what you are looking for. If they want your business, they'll do what they can.

Most of the stuff I am finding at the local store is all green and brown.

I also feel bad asking members for stuff. I feel like a heal and a grub.

Joe you have always been generous with what you bring to the club meetings. I guess I dont feel so guilty when its in the auction.

Ask the members. There are some members that would like to sell there surplus frags and make a few bucks in the process. You will definitely have more variety and access to higher end frags as well.

This has been a recent discussion among the BOD and we're looking to encourage the sales/ trades among attendees of the LIRA meetings. So don't feel bad asking the members what they have available for sale.

Also, be sure to the local stores know what they are lacking in, I'm sure they'll appreciate the input. If they don't, well don't shop there. Tell them that you'd love to give them your money, but they need to stock what is in demand.

I agree, other members is the best way to go for variety and price. I do try to buy from lfs sometimes, but they always seem very excited about what they have and i'm left unimpressed. if you tell them what you are looking for they usually do a good job of getting it.

I won't mention the store, but one local place i asked a few times for something specific, they wrote my name and number down and i never got a call. I don't shop there anymore.

I think everything in my tank is from local memebers and the Manhattan Reef frag swap. Why buy something ans ship it when you can get good healthy corals from friends?

Frag sales/trades are lacking now a days? I remember when tables were packed with all kinds of goodies. Point of interest manhattan reefs is having a frag swap on December 9th and the members and vendors usually have a very nice selection of things as Christine can attest to as well. http://www.manhattanreefs.com/
