Cloudy water, why?

I have a 180 gal reef tank and its been up for two years now.
In the past month my water has been getting cloudy on and off.
Its really irritating me, I miss my crystal clear water, please help!!

It seems that this happens when I add fresh water or on a water change, but im not positive. I have not had this problem before. I have asked all my local marine stores and they have not been able to help.
My water tests are not all exactly what they should be but not far off what they should be.
ammonia - 0
nitrate - 0
nitrite - 0
p.h. - 8.0
calcium - 380
KH - 13 dkh
salinity - 1.026
Is there another element that I should be testing that would cause my water to be hazy?

My livestock seems to be doing good, except for my pulsating Xina died off but I have other Xina that are growing and mulitplying.

I have never had this problem, can anyone help me please?

Have you tested your water change water? It may be a calcium carbonate precipitation problem. I would test it for calcium.

Calcium carbonate? Is that diff from testing for calcium, I test my calcium, it is around 380 I know it should be at 420 thats what im doing now, trying to get that right.

Thanks for the reply.

Check you calcium and also check your magnesium, if your Mg is super low then what you could be seeing is a chemical reaction that allows your calcium to bind with other elements that control your alkalinity resulting in a white haze of particles in your water. Correct Magnesium levels might help if yours is low. Especially since your alkalinity is on the high end. Try testing and adjusting your magnesium to about 1280 and see if your alkalinity goes down slightly and your calcium goes up some. Check your tank AND your water change water to see which is off. If either of them is way off when you combine them you will get the white precipitant that you are likely seeing.
