5' Acrylic Tank: 3/8" vs 1/2"?

I'm finally upgrading to a larger tank and have asked for quotes from Tru-Vu and Aquariums For You for a 60" x 20" x 20" acrylic tank. One is using 3/8" material and the other is using 1/2". My old Clarity Plus 55 which I bought from my LFS 6 years ago has 1/4" material and has a noticeable bulge or bow on the front and back which I want to avoid this time around. Any feedback would be appreciated. If anyone has purchased an acrylic tank from either of these companies I'd also like to hear about the workmanship and overall quality of the tanks. Many thanks.
