Mated pair of Blue Jaw Triggers FS
Some of you may remember me from a posting last spring about ordering some fish directly from a diver in Hawaii. I did, and got some wonderful fish. Two of those fish are a large, adult, mated pair of blue-jaw triggers. I would say that the female is 5"-6", and the male is 6"-7". They get along well, though there is the occassional jaw-locking discussion between them. Unfortunately, my Fish Only tank is pretty full, and I am longing desperately to get an adult Emperor Angel. So I would like to offer to sell these fish to someone who would appreciate them and care for them properly. They are currently in a 6' 150. I wouldn't even think of putting them in anything smaller than that--they love to swim. They are fat, healthy, and happy. I would want to know they were going to stay that way.
They eat just about anything--Spectrum large fish pellets, brine, bloodworms, mysis, krill, cut up cocktail shrimp, flake, algae wafers (yes!), silversides, minnows, you name it. I have never seen them bother any of my other fish, but then my other fish are large. From what I have read, they will leave coral and anemones alone, but I wouldn't want to guarantee it. I would guarantee that no shrimp or crabs would be safe. Probably the same for snails. As I said, I have had these fish for 20 months, and I have enjoyed them, but I have limited space, so I would love to find them a good home. If I can't, that's okay, I'll just keep them awhile longer. If you are interested, PM me, and I'll send you some pics (I can't figure out how to post and attach pics on RC). I don't know what a pair like this should sell for. Hector down at Tropical Aquarium has a male almost as big as this, and it's $75. And I know it's hard to get them as a pair. PM me an offer. And if for some strange reason someone wanted to trade me a large, healthy imperator, that would certainly be possible. Thanks, Jim |

new home
if you cant find a buyer and truly want to find them a good home you might consider donating them to the Cleveland Zoo. 1.4 million people would love to see them. I DON’T work with/for the Zoo. Im just trying to help find a GOOD home for fish looking for a new home.
