Stand inside bottom liner? Waterproof Neoprene?

I'm trying to keep water from stagnating between my stand and hardwood floor. I was thinking of using those rubber sheets from ACE hardware. They have "gutters" which are like treds on a tire, but they don't provide any vibration deadening that something like neoprene would offer.

I want to line the inside floor of my stand with something that's waterproof, thus preventing a small leak from filling the room. I also want to use those rubber sheet under the stand as well, to further help vent and cushion.

Any ideas on a lower cost solution than $56 eight square feet neoprene sheets? I'm not even too sure neoprene is waterproof.

I used vinyl that they have (got mine at Home Depot) to line where showers and tubs are. They have it on a roll and you can buy what you want. It is in the shower section in plumbing.

Tractor Supply company has heavy duty rubber mats that would work great under the stand.

Go for the shower pan liner from HD. Remember there is a special glue to use with it if you want to turn up the sides. I created a 4" deep catch basin under my sump in case there was a leak or what ever it goes directly to a floor drain. It works wonderfully. The sump is elevated and the drain is against the wall under it.

I bought a 30' roll of black neoprene at the American science and Surplus store on Milwaukee road about 3 years ago. I still have a significant amount of it left after using some to re-upholster a weight bench. I am guessing it is 7mm. I'll sell it for half of what you were quoted.

Holy Crap Cannarella. Guess you don't need to bring a magazine with you! You can do a waterchange while you take your morning constitutional! Does your sump level fluctuate when you flush? LOL

Nothing says "bachelor" like a sump in the water closet.

Multitasking...

My wife had the idea of putting the sump in the bathroom. What you don't see is the utility sink to the right.

Kinetic - Yes it is... but I would probably say officially that it is extremely water resistent... In other words - I dont think it is the same as a pool liner and could hold water indefinitely. My thought on the neoprene is that it is best as a liner protecting from the occasional splash or spill. I would use it with confidence. Yes I have @ 20' roll x 48". I would also say... this stuff is heavy, and may be more economical for local pickup.

Neoprene would be ok for temp and vibration but not necessarily watwertight. The air bubbles in the neoprene rubber may or may not pop or create a path for water to go thru. Any place that is folded, compressed or flexed is likely to have some degree of failure. The resulting retention of moisture that can become a bit funky, as any diver can attest to.

I am considering having a spray in bed liner like Rhino Liner installed into my stand I am building. Totally waterproof and no vibrations... They spray it in at about a quarter of an inch thick.

GO to your local HVAC shop and have them build you a metal pan, that is slightly larger than your stand. It can be several inches deep and have a drain if you want. Paint it any color you want and put your stand in it. Mats and plastic will let water seep back under them.
