I bought some too, great shapes and sizes. I wonder why he doesn't get it live? Looks more like Pukani.

I have bought from them too and great prices.. Great rock and since it does not need to be shipped second day or overnight you save a ton on shipping...

The 2nd question is a good one. I am wondering too. Is there a recipe or a ratio of dry to live for seeding purposes??

In order to colonize bacteria you need a food source. The food source is the waste product of fish and corals.

If you want to add alot of fish and corals at 1 time, you will need alot of live rock from a system with an equal bioload. You could add dry rock to fill in as needed for asthetics and aquascaping and over time will house bacteria and grow diff. algeas etc.

If you are going to add animals slowely, then dry rock + some live rock. The bacteria will grow with the food supply,(waste products from fish and corals). So you could start with more dry and add enough live rock to get things going.

Or you could cycle the old fashioned way and add all dry rock and throw in a couple of Damsels for a month.
