I'm tempted, but I have a PFO magnetic ballast that are currently running a pair of these same exact bulbs. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with them or your ballast?

I'm told that they will fire with a probe start (i.e. magnetic), and they will, after a f ew minutes, but doing so (like yours) will significantly reduce the life of the bulb).

Ushio put out a bunch of 175w 10k bulbs that have to have a pulse start ballast. They will not work correctly without. Normally there is an "E" on the box/sleeve. Went thru a couple of dozen this way that I sold a year or so ago. Very frustrating.
