I lived on Mt. Washington for a few years. It used to be called "coal hill" due to the large coal mine that was on the hill (circa 1760's). Almost eveyr skyline view of the city that people are familiar with is taken from grandview avenue (the street that skirts the front edge of Mt. Washington).

I guess I should add: Some of the city's best dining is on Mt. Washington (with a beautiful view of the city). Some of you that are extending your stay or coming in early will certainly want to check them out. Steaks, seafood, etc.

Nah. I think most of us are looking forward to the event. It should be a lot of fun. I know Steven and Adam have done a lot of work, so maybe I should not speak for them. There is a lot to do, but everything appears to be right on track.

Hey Bean, thanks for the info. The wife and I will have to check that out. I didn't know there was anything up there. Guess it's hard to visualize because all the pictures you see are always looking out at the city.

Most likely at any of the seafood places listed. Also for the best go to Wholey's Seafood in the Strip District. Here's a link to their website:

For those that are experienced with this event, do you know if there will be plenty of tickets available at the door? I'm really just interested in attending the trade show and going to the raffle. I definitely do not want to miss this one as it is so close to me.

To be honest, you are cheating yourself by not attending any of the talks. The vendors area is full of very cool stuff to see and buy, but the education you get is worth so much more. If you can manage to fit it in your budget, I would try to get a day pass. (Assuming they sell single day entry passes)

Sunday afternoon is when the raffle occurs. Steven posted the speaker schedule so you can see what topic interests you most. Maybe you'll want to come for two days instead of just one.

We will be selling passes throughout the show. We secured a large location, so we can admit plenty of people.

Thread hijack.

If we buy corals on Friday will there be some sort of facility or shipping service on site to sustain them? Or do the vendors generally hold all livestock until sunday afternoon in holding tanks?

They hold your corals until Sunday.

Get a shirt made with your username on the back, and that way we can find one another.

The Radisson is about 10 miles to the east in a suburb called Monroeville. We tried to locate the show downtown, but could not find a large enough venue.

whoa there Marc, you don't want to speak for all the livestock vendors. IN the past most have done that, but that is not to say they all will do it this time. Your best bet is to email the vendors first and ask, they are all listed on the MACNA site.
