Orange Zoa problem
This morning I noticed the funky growth you see circled in the picture. Last night they were perfectly fine. All the other zoa's in the tank appear to be unaffected. I really dont want to lose them so any/all input would be greatly appreciated.

Could be new sponge growth? Have you tried peeling it off... if not could be fungus of sort ?

Yeah it peels off pretty easy but the way it wraps around the zoos makes it a little difficult to really get at it. If they are a sponge then simply exposing it to air for a minute would kill it off, right? If its a fungus how should I go about treating it?

I had something similar to this a few months ago. I never found a solution, yet I thought it may be a sponge. I lost most of the colony and the rest that is remaining looks as if it may be on its way out. I tried both freshwater dips and a type of fungas medication. Best of luck and keep us posted.

You can opt to cut out the zoos that aren't as surrounded, to have a frag away from the rest of the colony in case that the mother colony dosn't make it.

Unfortunately the entire colony has been affected. I have tried to manually remove as much as I could. I then RODI w/Iodine dipped it for about 10 minutes. Rinsed with SW then tried to remove some more that was easier to get at once the polyps completely shrunk down. I have a feeling I am going to lose the colony which really sucks.

This happened to my zoos. I took an old (soft) tooth brush and scrubbed the rock. The zoos stick to the rock much better than sponge. I think the combination of scrubbing it off and being exposed to air in the process killed off the sponge and my zoos eventually recovered

I had something similar ans I used a baby toothbrush to gently scub it off. Worked well for me and I havent has the problem since. Good Luck

I'd scrub it too.
Also try removing them like delsol said.
