Anem 911!
So my very large Sebae, that hosts two false percs moved today. When I lifted up the rock to see if I could find him and see if he's okay he ripped in half! He was attached to the rock and I moved another. I didn't feel him resist at all.
The larger portion is still attached so I moved the whole rock to QT. This portion still has the mouth fully intact. I also put the small piece- which is now free floating in QT. I gave each an iodine bath. I have a good feeling about the large piece but I'm still worried. Anyone have an accident like this before? Also, I'm thinking about putting it's clowns in with it- it's so much happier with them normally. Anyone have any opinion on this? I'm really hoping that it can repair the damage to the main piece and maybe the little guy can even grow a new mouth. Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance for opinions. |

The only thing you can do is leave him alone and hope for the best. I would not recommend clowns for now because the torn margin of the anemone is very fragile and even slight wiggling of a clownfish may prevent healing. I have had anemones recover from horrible damage, so it is possible.

Can you get a pic? I'd like to see what it looks like now.

Sure, will post pic when I get home. It may be hard to show damage with out moving him around- which I want to avoid, but I'll give it a shot.
