A few questions

I am moving out to CO from California in July and have a few questions.
1.
I have the system designed and have almost all of the pieces ready to assemble when I get there. Are there any additional considerations about the altitude, thin air or oxygenation of the water that I should think about before setup?

2.
You have these neat things called "basements" out there! The system presently incorporates a sump within the stand for component storage and increase in water volume. Is there any benefit to keeping the sump in the basement (cooler in Summer?)? My water change barrels are going to be down there, but I'm thinking it would be nice to have as much of the system by the tank as possible.

2. b.
I there a moisture concern with having two 55 gallon drums in that enclosed space? Your air is dry, but is it THAT dry?

Thank you for your help.
If only I could get there by June 23rd. That tank tour looks amazing!

Chris

1. No
2. Lots of people have sumps in the basement and pump upto the main floor.
2b. I have a 125 and 55 sump in my basement, the humidity level is fine.

Ohhhh and Welcome to Colorado.

basements

ditto, I have a 50 gal sump in the basement and have not had any problems. The best thing is that my sump is in a unfinished part of the basement with a concrete floor and floor drain. Any minor spills are easy to clean up and the floor doesn't stain.

Cool! The vibe in this forum is really positive. I'm looking forward to going to meetings.
I'm a member of a great club out here, but a 60 mile drive on a Friday night anywhere in California is masochism.

Wow! That sounds like a tough drive.

We have meetings at a central location every other month and then on opposite months have chapters that meet at people's homes in a certain geographical location. You will notice we have two July meetings, one North and one in Denver (one for each Chapter). Hopefully it makes it easier for people to get to meetings!

Being in Eerie you will be just North of Denver, so any of the meetings should be pretty easy access for you.
