think these would work nice and fit over a 75 gallon tank with a 12" high canopy? What is a good ballast to run an SE bulb with taking price into effect?

IMO people over exaggerate that T-5 run much cooler than MH. While one T-5 bulb will run cooler than a MH bulb, when you put 4-6 above a tank it ads a whole lot of heat and is comparable to MH.

I would probably go with the 120. It has a nice deep look to it. I would be afraid that with the 150 you may lose that effect. On top of that I think with a 120 you can get by with some equipment...

t-5 would probably work well...cheapest bulbs to run that will still help with your coraline algae...or you could always check out the solarid LED...very efficient but the upfront cost is quite large.

Hamilton is taken. The two XMs are still available. These are pretty much two brand new bulbs. I am selling them because I switched over to HQI to save room in my canopy just FYI.
