Ever grabbed a Fireworm? I HAVE! (PICS)

Well, today was the day. Pulled everything out of the tank so I could add a bunch of LR and more sand.

Now, I KNEW I had a LOT of bristleworms, and have even seen what I am sure are fireworms in the tank in the past, but I have almost never worn gloves, so, couldn't be bothered this time either...

Well, I had about 75% of the old rock out of the tank and went to grab another piece. Well! Whadayaknow! SOMETHING (besides my overprotective Clown) bit me!

So, without further ado, here is what happens when you grab a worm without gloves...

WHAT A GOOBER! So, after MUCH dancing around and scraping, I got most of them out and finished up the job, but I still "feel a slight pinch" once in a while.

GLOVES, PEOPLE! They are your friends!

Yeah, I tried tape but it didn't work. Just used a Butter Knife under HOT water. It's all good! I think it was actually pretty funny! I KNEW BETTER!

I put gloves on RIGHT AFTER!

A bit too late though. I agree though! Use gloves when you're putting your hands where you can't see!

OH PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LAUGH!!! I am still laughing myself... My wife just walked in the room and looked at me and busted out laughing again!

Something about her telling me I should put gloves on about 4 times right before it happened!

It IS funny when someone does something they know beter than to do and suffers (small) consequences...

And, if you can't laugh at yourself, WHO can you laugh at?

Turbosnail: Yes it was a painful lesson on glove use, but like dc said (WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF THE LOUNGE! ), I HATE gloves!

If you get nailed by enough of them, you'll become immune, and the bristles won't stick in as much. Don't ask how I know.

THERE YOU GO! Just "Man Up" and take it! Sounds like a good plan to me! I just hope I can "hang"!

Naw, after I passed 5000 posts it was easy.

And I do have 2 windows open of course.

Actually, it was a fairly small one (maybe 4" - 5"). DON'T BE SCARED! The bristles can't penetrate latex gloves (powder free of course). Just take precautions or be prepared to have your SO laugh at you!
