Who gives the biggest frags!

I do.

As you may or not know I am going to upgrade to a larger tank, so I am slowely getting my corals out of the current tank. Here are some shots of two "frags"(sorry one is not an SPS ) that I gave to Atlantis Marine World located in Riverhead NY.

Last pics in the tank.

Out of the tank.

That is very generous of you. I am sure they love anything they can get to put in that huge tank.

I was really happy to be able to hand off such large corals to a facility that will be able to take them to the next level. Both corals were in my tank for about 4 1/2 years, grown from small frags themselves.

Thanks. At this point I think it is going to be a 310 (72x36x28) gallon tank.

Very cool. Nice photos too! Must be strange to see them in that tank, after looking at them in the same manner for 4 1/2 years.

Very cool, especially the hammers growth pattern. I hope they like the new home as much as yours.

Wow, that's really awesome. Very generous of you to donate to Atlantis instead of making money by fragging. Keep us posted on the upgrade.

Those "frags" you speek of could not possibly fit inside my tank! In fact even cut in half I could not get them in, this is NOT a problem I normaly have when buying frags.

Great peices, you must be proud,
Whiskey

Thanks guys.

As far as selling those corals vs giving them away. I'd much rather be able to see them continue to survivie and grow to sizes I'd never be able to realize in my home aquarium than make money off them. Heck I've been raising them for years!

Here are some old shots.

The original frag of the table about 2 months after I got it.

The hammer about 6 months or so after I got it. To give you an idea of it original size the baby hippo is maybe 1 1/2", use the clown next to it as a reference.

kudos Joe B! Fab images across the board too... I especially like Joe Y's "munster glare" on surfacing too :P (Hi, Joe Y! )

It's a fine thing you have done to secure such housing rather than merely frag them out. It will be so magnificent to see these mature corals carry on through the years (this is one thing that seems to be lacking in enough US tanks IMO... keeping less/larger corals and layaing claim to such magnificent colonies many years established).

I cannot think of a batter place and better aquarist than Atlantis/Joe Y to carry on your cnidarian baton here.

I look forward to your next tank... will be happy to help you with donations to fill it too when you are ready.

kindly, Anth-
