120 Gallon Peninsula Build (48x24x24)
I have been planning this for the last few months and decide to wait until the tank arrived until I officially started this build log.
I was close to giving Jesse a call but a neighbor showed up to help me carry her in. ![]() I decide to have the overflow span the entire width. The stand will wrap around to cover the back portion of the tank. ![]() Here we see the 8 Bulb 54watt T5 fixture from Sunlight Supply ![]() Staging area, Octopus Recirc Needlewheel 200 and a 55 that will be used for my sump ![]() Stay tuned but it could be some time before I can add some life to her.

That's going to look nice. The peninsula/room divider style is by far my favorite. I'll definitely be sticking around for updates!

Any recommendations where to get a good deal on Single Union Ball Valves. I'll need (2) .75" (3) 1.5" and (4) 1.0"

Great looking tank
You're lucky it was still there when you picked it up. I was eyeing that thing until Paul quickly squashed my desires. Tuning in for the progress

Those standpipe mufflers Jesse linked to are supposed to be the cat's meow. I am trying to find the time to fiddle with one myself.
Nifty tank ArizonaReefer. I will tag along for the build.

nice Tank
hi there, like your lighting choice, exactly what I was thinking of going with. Are you going to have a canopy or open top tank?

i would definately be the 4th vote for the gurgle buster. my friend just got a 120 and it sounded like a continuous toilet bowl flushing. it took all of 10 mins. to build (spent more time in the pvc aisle in lowes finding the parts) and it is a hell of a difference.

Had to fire up the skimmer, was pleased to see the fine mist of bubbles.
It would have been nice if it came with some sort of directions for the money they cost. When adjusting the height of the water where do I want it to sit? at the point where it angles down to the smaller tube below the union fitting? ![]()

I set my bubbles about 2-3" below the top of the cup. After a few hours the bubbles will be reaching the top of the cup and you will be skimming.
You may have a break in period to start though. |
