Talking wooooooooot happiest... well one of the... days of my life :)

so i have a 2.5" lionfish (volitans) and i fed it a ghost shrimp in the morning around 11am today....

so about 10 minutes ago, i was feeding my acans and my micromussa (for great growth) and i see the lion was going up and eyeing the food the micro has... so i took a small chunk of squid (frozen) and i waved it about, the lion came, looked at it, but didnt bite. i let it go, the lion followed it for about 5 seconds, it got into teh current (and was "getting away from the lion") and the lion chased it down and took it. then i tried with a baby silverslide, did the same.

SO HAPPY!

now, any suggestions for quality feedings?

best foods for lions is avariety of meaty foods such as silverslides
krill, mysis shrimp.squid,scallops.raw shrimp.and small bite sized peices of marine species fish (raw) avoid giving too much salmon or tuna these have a very high fatty content and in excess amounts can cause fatty liver disease ..i saok all my foods in a mixture of garlic extreme and selcon before each feeding..while your fish are small and young i highly reccomend offering small amounts of food daily as he grows and he will grow fast up to 7 in in the first yr ,,then cut his back gradually to every other day and so on but do be sure to feed if you notice any predatorial behavior such as eying smaller fish..you will come to know this look very well.
