Zoo Tank - October Volunteers Needed

We're looking for some volunteers to help out with the general cleaning and upkeep of the Seneca Park Zoo tank during the month of October. There are five routine maintenance visits scheduled as follows:

Sun October 1st: 8:00am
Sat October 7th: 8:30am
Sat October 14th: 8:30am
Sun October 22nd: 8:30am
Sun October 29th: 9:00am

Volunteers accompany Kevin, Rick, Guy, Charles or myself up to the zoo and help with all the routine maintenance the tank requires such as cleaning/scraping the glass inside and out, wiping down lights, braces and reflectors, maintaining the skimmer, changing out the carbon, running a slew of tests and other small projects. With a couple people, the work usually only takes about an hour... though with the conversations and hanging out factored in, we're usually there for about two.

So that we don't have a lot of people tripping over each other, we try to limit the number of volunteers to around two per visit.

Sign up for any of the above dates by posting a note here or sending me a PM. We'd appreciate the help.

Great!

Ray, I've got you down for the 1st.
Mike, you're down for the 1st, 22nd and 29th.
Eugene, let me know if either the 22nd or 29th will work for you.

You should be getting a message from the team leader a few days before the day of any trip you're scheduled for confirming the logistics of where and when to meet.

In most cases you'll be meeting right outside the zoo gates at the scheduled time. It's important to try to be there on time since you may not be able to get in once the group heads down to the tank.

Thanks guys,

- Mark

Brian,

You're welcome to help out with the tank. I'm not sure if you missed the threads about it, but after keeping the tank going for 2 1/2 years, Dave is taking a well deserved break.

I've been making posts here since February trying to make it as easy as possible for interested individuals to get involved. All you need do is respond to one of these threads or send me a PM. We'd be happy to have the help.

There's been a little change of plans. Charles is planning on heading up to the zoo on Sunday rather than tomorrow. So Lando, let me know if you'd like to be scheduled for a different day.

Thanks!
