Anybody from Euro-Reef still visit these boards?

Cleaning my 8-2 skimmer today and the thing fell apart in my hands.Seems the joint joining the topand the body failed or something, I thought these things were cast in one piece??

Here's some pictures incase this has happened to somebody else.

Wow , hope my ER never does that. L:et's us know how it turns out.

On the other hand, it is easier to clean out the inside of it.

Wow never seen that happen but with some weld on you can have it fixed in a jiffy . You could also add to the height if you can find some 8" tube.

I doubt ER will do much considering age. But you never know.

i wish it happened to me like clkwrk said you can raise it lol

i just cut the bottom of mine and extended it 5" and aimed my flow down now it fills the whole chamber [original size plus 2 extra inches]

i wish i could have raised it.

a slight bead of silicone would work too for your fixin,s

How old is it ? It looks old and worn to me . Mine was 3 or 4 years old when I sold it and it was still looking clean .

The skimmer was purchased from a local LFS on 3/1/2005. The hose holder broke off about a month after purchasing it but never really cared.
