Its Oolitic sand...pretty much the same as CaribSea Aragamax sand. I used 400 pounds of it in my old 150...

southdown

If you find it locally, you've found the Holy Grail. Last I heard the company changed it's name. I haven't heard of anyone having it on the West Coast. Back East, some Home Depots carried it. Way you can check the sand is to pour some vinegar on it. If it bubbles it good stuff. If it doesn't, then it isn't what you want because it's silica based.

I have about 120 pounds of it for sale (I think it was 3 or 4 X 40 pound bags) from my 80 gallon.

It was rinsed clean with freshwater about 3 weeks ago since I had no system to put it into while it was still live. The sand was in my 80 for a year before we took it down, it was nice because it dissolves easliy and buffers the water quite a bit. Everything in that tank was always stable, it's good stuff.

$60 takes it all, bring 3 or four buckets to carry it home

PM me for details..

Do you have the extra large 8" wide plastic ridgid hoop ones? I think they are 16" long or so...

Hmmm,
about 10 socks for the whole load
(assuming this is real Southdown..I've got plenty of other stuff)

Or we could do 5 socks for half the load, or any other fraction.
I'm flexible
