How Much Light can I put over my xenia and not BURN THEM
Right now I have a 240 gallon tank 8x2x2
and my xenia is in the middle and I have odyssey compact flourescent light (64x4 watts and 80 watts of Regular t-12 10 k flourescent so thats 336 watts , and the xenia is half way up in the tank I have 2 250 watt metal halide bulbs, but I rather now use them as I think they are too blue I was wondering if I could ge ta 10,000k 400 or 1000 watt metal halide but that might burn them I LOVE THIS STUFF, and I want to grow as much as possible

I have 3x400w MH and 2x160w VHO over my 125g (22" deep and the lights are about 7" from the top of the tank), and I have Xenia growing at various places in the tank. There is some about 6" from the top and I have some on the bottom too. It all seems to be doing fine. I do recommend photo acclimating them though.

Just make sure that you reduce the photo period and slowly increase it so everything is not shocked with tons more light.
