Wow. These BB's have inspired me. Bomber and his crew have some mighty healthy looking corals.

My question is, would you still have a refugium? How about a filter sock or some mech filter besides the skimmer? Also, I've thought of covering the bottom w/ gsp or zoos, but would that defeat the purpose and cause more detritus trap?

thanks!!!

No refuge. Filter sock yes changed daily or every other day.

Zoos or gsp would defeat the pourpose IMO .

Here my 180 BB while were at it .

I chose to go BB on this new setup because I'm a clean freak.

I siphon every other day and I love it.

GEEEEZ!!! I did not want to post after clkwrk!

Clkwrk, your tank is what I want to emulate with my setup. I did my rockwork to have definite division just like yours.

I sound like a crazed clkwrk fan!

All five of them saw the error of their ways and went back to the natural look of sand.

hmmm.....won't the rubble creat zones which are devoid of flow .leading to build up detritus .leading to water quality being degraded?

been about a month now and no rise in levels (0's).not to much collecting in the rubble, its placed pretty loose(i do still have to siphon alittle around the corners, but i had to before the rubble ). i do run a aquamedic nitrate reductor,so i have alot of leway in the nitrate department.
Like i said im just toying with it.i like the look altho i think i would be better served using branch rock with no pores.

Thanks i like your rock work, looks really good.
the reductor works great.I can say its the one piece of equipment i only have to touch once a year.and the price is good compared to the sulfer ones.mine is a few years old,the new ones come with dosing pumps not that there needed.once pressurized mine never needs to be touched.i run it off the same pump as my CA reactor.also its the aquamedic nitrate reductor 1000.

Thanks for the info and compliment Rob!

Smoknreefers- I believe they are due mid year. If you go to the Tunze website they have a thumbnail at the bottom for the interzoo flyer with their nano streams.

Time to break some tables!

How about the bare FAUX bottom! 2 part clear epoxy + sand = bare bottom with sand look!
