Tropic Marin Salt Group Buy

Would there be any interest in a 300 gallon box of Tropic Marin? We need to order a pallet (30) boxes to get it for $62.00. Payment will be thru paypal so add 2.9% +0.30. Total amount will be $64.10. paypal address is rbdesigns@mac.com. Once we hit 30 we can place the order and hopefully get it by the end of the week, or the middle of next week. Pickup will be in 90241.

I am getting 5 boxes.

i tried to do a salt buy but to physically move 60 cases at some 50 lbs each it is almost impossible.. it wont fit on a single pickup and gas is not cheap so ther goes any money you would save, you have to have a small army help you move that much salt, it will Kill your back and you have to store that pallet which is no joke.. good luck on this though but honestly for you it really doesnt pay to do it...

i dont want to kill your buy but i am just giving you a heads up before you really get this thing going...

I'm going to cheat on the loading and unloading of the pallet. The truck I'm going to use has a lift gate. It's about $12 savings on the salt alone. If I order from Marine Depot I would have to pay $9 for shipping. So it would become $21 in savings. I figure the most I'll spend on gas would be $15 to drive maybe 75 miles and getting 5 boxes for myself it would bring the cost up 3 bucks a box, so it's a matter of how much everyone will save after they take into account to pick up from my house.

is this the 300# bag of regular Tropic Marin salt mix? I cannot find this item at marinedepot.com. I've used the Pro version before but not the regular.

I was using the pricing as reference because they have the best pricing on salt. I divided 49.95/200 to get $0.25 a gallon compared it to 64.10/300 $0.21 a gallon. The box is one bag of the regular kind. I don't think many people carry it. I was quoted $100 by Coral Oasis and I read somewhere awhile back the cheapest place to get it was Seaside for $80.

I thought I saw a thread on SoCal reefers a week ago about this salt for sale at a lfs....oh but it was 29.99 i think...i might have no idea what i'm talking about. i just use IO that I get at Petsmart...it's cheapest there, and it seems to work fine...i've never really tried anything else.

I'm going to ask Allen to pick it up for me, I'll have to talk to him first. If he can't then I don't mind picking it up for you.

Yes, but I think it's only a couple of buxs cheaper than marine depot prices, maybe 2-5 dollars cheaper, but I'll double check and post the pricing.

Have you started using the Ocean pure? I've heard it's a good salt too. If we don't hit the 30, maybe I should postpone until someone does one on the Ocean Pure salt.
